the protected western side between Speightstown and Bridgetown. Further south you'll find St Lawrence, or 'The Gap', where the sound of reggae beats will fill your ears long into the night.

There's plenty of action off the beach and away from the bars too; keen divers flock to the Soup Bowl's bay at stunning Bathsheba on the east coast and golfers are spoilt for choice with the championship Royal Westmoreland and Barbados Golf Course as well as the three courses at Sandy Lane.
